Davis Cup Regulation 24.4 states that three (3) nations may* be promoted and that the Davis Cup Committee will decide the number of relegated nations depending on the size of the group.
For 2019 the Davis Cup Committee has approved that two (2) nations may* be relegated.
*Nations are reminded that the current format does not guarantee a place in a higher or lower group until the Qualifiers are completed each year. The number of nations from the Asia/Oceania region losing in the Qualifiers will affect which nations qualify for each of the Asia/Oceania groups.
The currently approved format allows each nation the opportunity to earn the same number of Nations Ranking Points. A higher ranking will increase a nation’s chances of qualifying for a higher group the following year.
Please note that the format and days of play may change in case of withdrawals.
The Asia/Oceania Group III event will take place in Singapore, with the host nation joined by Vietnam, Iran, Kuwait, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Syria and Malaysia.
